SAIC’s Roewe M7 PHEV with 2,050 km range and ByteDance’s AI model launched from 12,100 USD
SAIC launched its Roewe M7 DMH plug-in hybrid sedan in China, available in three trims with a price range of 85,800 to 102,800 yuan (12,100 to 14,500 USD). The CLTC comprehensive range is 2,050 km.
The Roewe M7 DMH is the first mass-produced car derived from the Roewe Pearl concept car designed by previous Rolls-Royce design chief Jozef Kaban, adopting a vertical waterfall front grille design.
Positioned as a medium-to-large sedan, the Roewe M7 DMH measures 4940/ 1890/1510 mm (l/w/h) with a wheelbase of 2820 mm. The rear knee space in the car reaches 126 mm.
Its curb weight is 1,670 kg and minimum turning radius is 5.8 meters.
Five exterior paints are available, namely, gray, gold, purple, white, and blue.
Notably, the top-of-the-line trim is equipped with a “AI mCDC” suspension system that can conduct 200 scans of the road surface every second and predict 15 meters ahead to actively adjust the suspension, according to the official.
The entry-level trim runs on 215/55 R17 tires while the other two trims run on 225/50 R18 tires.
Level 2 advanced driving assistance and active safety functions are optional, including highway NOA, forward collision warning, and blind spot monitoring, just to name a few.
The Roewe M7 DMH is equipped with SAIC’s self-developed DMH 6.0 Super Hybrid System, consisting of a 1.5L engine and a front electric motor, matched with a 19.7 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack. The engine has a maximum power of 82 kW (110 hp) and a peak torque of 135 Nm, and the electric motor outputs 137 kW (184 hp) and 330 Nm. The top speed is 185 km/h and it takes 7.9 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h.
The CLTC pure electric range is 160 km, the comprehensive range is 2,050 km, and the comprehensive fuel consumption per 100 km is 2.91 L. Under fast charging, it takes 20 minutes to recharge the battery from 30% to 80%.
The cockpit is equipped with a two-spoke multi-function steering wheel that supports heating, a 10.25-inch full LCD instrument panel, and a 15.6-inch 2.5K central control screen that sits on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip. The phone interconnection supports OPPO, Vivo, Huawei, Xiaomi, and Apple.
ByteDance’s Doubao AI model is also present to power the onboard AI assistant. According to the official, saying the command “help me get my child to sleep” automatically adjusts the temperature, fan speed, closes the windows, and plays a story.
The trunk has a standard volume of 527 L. There are 31 storage spaces throughout the interior.
