Wuling goes upstream in China by launching a new brand, Aishang, aimed at young buyers. The brand’s first model is a BEV hatchback called A100C. Its mass production kicked off in China with the market launch scheduled for October 2025.
The Chinese car market has suffered from intense competition for several consecutive years. As a result, every year, a lot of experts predict that most of the local car brands will go bust in the short term. And some of them fall victim to these forecasts, with Neta as the latest example. However, there are still a lot of automakers fighting for a place in the sun. What is more intriguing is that new brands continue to emerge in the Middle Kingdom. The latest newcomer to the market is Wuling’s Aishang.
Wuling launched a new brand in China
Wuling is a mainstream Chinese automaker owned by Guangxi Automotive Group. It is best known for the joint venture with GM and SAIC (SGMW). However, this company has stand-alone projects as well. The Aishang brand is the youngest of Wuling’s babies.

Wuling launched mass production of the Aishang’s first model in China in late September. Despite a growing trend for large crossovers, the new brand’s launch car is the Aishang A100C electric two-door city car. It is worth noting that Wuling is quite experienced in manufacturing small and affordable cars with a price tag under 100,000 yuan (~14,000 USD).
According to Wuling deputy GM Wang Zhiqiang, the domestic demand for small cars represented a 63% year-over-year growth in the first half of 2025, with over 425,000 units sold in six months. The top manager highlighted that he sees it as a strategic opportunity to enter the low-cost passenger car market with a new product. According to Wang, modern cars should be attractive, easy to use, and social.
Wuling leaders are confident about the launch of the new brand, entering a highly competitive segment. The first Aishang vehicle will start sales in October, competing with the Chery QQ Ice Cream and the Changan Lumin.
More about the Aishang A100C
The Aishang A100C is a small two-door four-seat EV with a rather generic “cute” appearance common for its market segment. It adopts blackened pillars, aerodynamic wheel covers, and an air intake in the front bumper. The car’s headlights are giving everyone a frowning look. Other highlights of the A100C are conventional door handles and a charging port cover in the front right fender.
The Aishang A100C’s dimensions are 3285/1708/1550 mm. Its wheelbase reaches 1,980 mm. For clarity, it is 29 mm longer, 130 mm wider, and 28 mm lower than the 2025 model year Wuling Mini EV. The Aishang A100C has a single electric motor in the rear axle for 35 kW (51 hp) and 83 Nm. It is powered by a Gotion-made LFP battery for 17.65 kWh. The electric range of the A100C reaches 220 km under CLTC conditions.
