The Toyota bZ3X sibling from GAC will launch in China in November with BEV and PHEV powertrain variants. It is the Aion i60 compact crossover. It will enter the domestic market with a starting price of around 100,000 yuan (14,050 USD).

The Toyota bZ3X is a compact electric SUV jointly developed by the Japanese automaker and GAC. It entered the Chinese market in March 2025 with a starting price of 109,800 yuan (15,430 USD) before discounts. Its cumulative sales volume reached 33,748 units by August 2025, according to China EV DataTracker. It was disclosed in October that GAC will launch its own variant of the bZ3X with adjusted styling and Aion badges.

More about GAC Aion i60

The GAC Aion i60 shares the same AEP modular architecture as the mentioned bZ3X. This platform also underpins the GAC Aion V, which was launched in Europe at the IAA Mobility 2025 in September. Back to the Aion i60, its connection with the Toyota-branded SUV is visible to the unaided eye. These models share similar features, including greenhouse, glass lines, doors, side-view mirrors, fenders, and other body elements.

The GAC Aion i60 could be distinguished by its headlights, bumpers, and taillight unit. It is slightly bigger than the bZ3X, with dimensions of 4685/1854/1660 mm and a wheelbase of 2,775 mm. This vehicle rides on 18 or 19-inch wheels. It has five seats inside. The curb weight of the Aion i60 reaches 1,910 kg, while the gross weight is 2,350 kg.

The all-electric GAC Aion i60 features a single electric motor producing 165 kW (221 hp). The top speed reaches 160 km/h. It was disclosed by the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology that the Aion i60 will be available with a PHEV powertrain. This variant adopts a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated ICE for 74 kW (101 hp) and an e-motor for 165 kW. It boasts a 29.165 kWh LFP battery for 160 km of electric range under CLTC conditions.

GAC Aion i60

According to Autohome, the GAC Aion i60 will enter the domestic market in November 2025. This model has applied for a sales license this month. It will be priced at around 100,000 yuan (14,050 USD). This step might lead to unnecessary competition with a product from the GAC Toyota JV. Therefore, this decision seems strange so far.
