Nio ET5 lineup debuts limited edition on 16 December, with unique exterior package
Nio has released official images of the ET5 and ET5 Touring Deep Space Purple limited edition models ahead of their scheduled debut on 16 December, according to IT-home. The announcement confirms new exterior styling treatments for both the ET5 sedan and ET5 Touring, which remain part of Nio’s 2025 mid-size electric passenger car lineup. The limited-edition package introduces a distinct exterior colour and graphics while maintaining the core specifications of the existing models.
Both the ET5 and ET5 Touring Deep Space Purple limited editions retain the base vehicle architecture and technical specifications of the standard ET5 series. The ET5 is a mid-size electric sedan, and the ET5 Touring is the shooting brake-style tourer variant, both of which share a common platform with identical wheelbase and body measurements. According to CarNewsChina data, the ET5 Touring and ET5 range figures under the CLTC testing cycle are up to 740 km for the sedan with the 100 kWh battery and up to 710 km for the tourer with the same battery option. The dual-motor configuration produces a total system output of 490 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque.
The limited-edition appearance package includes the exclusive Deep Space Purple paint, darker purple body graphics, and a dedicated limited-edition badge on the rear triangle window. The 2025 ET5 Touring exterior design incorporates a refreshed front end with a sharper vertical surface treatment, closed grille elements and larger trapezoidal air inlets, paired with standard ADB intelligent multi-beam headlights and reshaped Double-Dash daytime running lights. These elements carry over to the limited editions as part of the confirmed visual enhancements.
The ET5 and ET5 Touring Deep Space Purple editions continue to employ Nio’s NT Cedar S third-generation intelligent system. Both models integrate the Dimensity NX9031, an automotive-grade 5nm intelligent driving chip, and run the SkyOS operating system. A perception suite of 29 high-precision sensors, including equivalent 300-line laser radar and 4D imaging radar, supports Nio’s World Model architecture for assisted driving functions.
Inside, the limited editions retain the interior layout introduced in the 2025 refresh of the ET5 series, featuring a 15.6-inch horizontal AMOLED central display and a 10.2-inch full-digital instrument panel that powers the user interface. Additional comfort features include a head-up display, dual wireless charging area and a multi-speaker audio system.
For reference, the base purchase price of the existing ET5 lineup is 298,000 yuan (approximately USD 42,000), while Nio’s battery-rental purchase scheme starts at 190,000 yuan (approximately USD 26,800), with a monthly battery fee starting at 728 yuan (approximately USD 102).
