10,000th Dongfeng M-Hero M817 PHEV rolled off production line, world’s first off-road SUV with Huawei ADS 4.0
On December 26th, Dongfeng’s 10,000th M-Hero M817 PHEV, the world’s first off-road vehicle equipped with Huawei’s Qiankun ADS 4.0 advanced driving system, rolled off the production line in China, since its first launch in August this year. Just a few days ago, a M-Hero M817 was delivered to Jin Yuzhi, CEO of Huawei’s Intelligent Automotive Solution Business Unit.

Currently, the M-Hero M817 has four trims on the market, priced between 301,900 and 369,900 yuan (43,000 to 52,600 USD).

It is also worth mentioning that the first batch of 400 units of the M-Hero M817 were exported to the Middle East on December 16th.




Positioned as a large off-road SUV, the M-Hero M817 measures 5100/1998/1899 (1919) mm (l/w/h), with a wheelbase of 3005 mm, a maximum wading depth of 900 mm, and a minimum turning radius of 3.5 m. Nine driving modes are supported, including snow, deep snow, mud, rocks, sand, and water.
Its PHEV system boasts a combined power output of 505 kW (677 hp) and a torque of 848 Nm, achieving 0-100 km/h acceleration in 5.2 seconds. The maximum CLTC pure electric range is 215 km and the comprehensive range is 1,365 km for the top-of-the-line trim, which is equipped with a 50.4 kWh CATL Freevoy battery pack.

The onboard Huawei Qiankun ADS 4.0 is supported by 11 high-definition cameras, three 4D millimeter-wave radars, one 192-line lidar, and 12 ultrasonic radars, totaling 27 sensors. The vehicle’s automatic emergency braking speed is 130 km/h.

The interior features a 10.25-inch instrument cluster, a 15.6-inch central control screen, a W-HUD, a digital rearview mirror, and a 5.05L refrigerator embedded in the center console. The cockpit system is powered by Huawei’s HarmonySpace 5. In-vehicle satellite communication is also present.
For storage space, the standard trunk capacity is 828L, capable of accommodating 12 20-inch suitcases, one 28-inch suitcase, and one carry-on bag at the same time.
In November, the M-Hero brand sold 2,007 vehicles, up 38.4% from October.
