Huawei and SGMW’s flagship Baojun Huajing S plug-in hybrid SUV unveiled

SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW) and Huawei’s joint new series – Baojun Huajing – has officially launched its first flagship vehicle called the Huajing S six-seater SUV on the Huawei Qiankun App. The new car will come standard with Huawei Qiankun ADS 4.0, HarmonySpace 5.0 intelligent cockpit system, Huawei IVCS (Intelligent Vehicle Cloud Services), and will be among the first to feature Huawei’s Limera in-cabin laser vision solution.

Earlier on September 6th, SGMW and Huawei held a signing ceremony to deepen their cooperation on the Baojun “Three Intelligences” strategy focusing on intelligent driving, intelligent cockpit, and intelligent manufacturing, aims to promote the popularization of intelligent technologies in the 150,000 yuan (21,300 USD) vehicle market segment, according to the official.

Currently, Huawei has developed vehicles with SeresCheryBAICJAC, and SAIC under the following brands within the Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA): Aito, Luxeed, Stelato, Maextro, and Saic. The collaborations with Dongfeng and GAC are also in the works.

As a plug-in hybrid SUV, the front fascia features a large trapezoidal grille and a “Z” shape through-type headlight cluster. The Baojun brand logo is embedded above the headlights and the lower bumper features a U-shaped design. The rear also has a similar shape full-width taillight cluster.

Additionally, the Huajing S is built based on Baojun’s Tianyu architecture.

Earlier in September, three trims of the Huajing S were exposed by the Chinese MIIT. Its dimensions are 5235/1999/1800 mm (l/w/h), and has a 3105 mm wheelbase. Its curb weight are 2,385 kg, 2,470 kg, and 2,665 kg.

Its powertrain leverages the Wuling Lingxi hybrid system consisting of an 1.5T engine with a maximum power output of 105 kW (141 hp), paired with 41.9 kWh and 31 kWh Wuling Magic Battery (LFP), providing a WLTC pure electric range of 130 km, 160 km, and 175 km. The electric motor specifications and comprehensive range info have not been revealed at this time.
