The Smart #6 plug-in hybrid liftback undergoes winter tests in China. It is the biggest car from the joint venture between Geely and Mercedes-Benz. The #6 will enter the market soon with a PHEV technology based on Geely’s solution.

The latest model from the Smart brand was exposed by the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in December 2025 during the homologation process. Last month, this model was spotted on the roads during road tests. On February 9, Smart officials shared that the #6 undergoes winter tests in China.

No specific details on test conditions and the location were provided. CarNewsChina assumes that these photos were taken in Heilongjiang province, which is considered one of the coldest places in China, with temperatures dropping below -35 degrees Celsius. Previously, Geely Automobile conducted comprehensive cold-weather tests of a wide range of its cars there, including the Geely EX5 EM-i.

The car in official photos is covered with thick camouflage film. However, it aligns with previously revealed official images in terms of exterior styling. It has a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor, an interactive light panel between headlights, retractable door handles, and a sleek roofline.
