The new Haval flagship full-size SUV from GWM with a plug-in hybrid system was revealed in official images in China. It is currently known by its codename HX. The official name of this off-roader will be revealed on April 10.
The new Haval crossover was previously spotted in China during road tests, wearing camouflage. It is a full-size SUV with three rows of seats inside. It stands on the GWM One modular architecture that supports five powertrain variants: ICE, PHEV, HEV, BEV, and FCEV. The car seen in China had a Hi4-Z dual-motor setup.

The Haval HX is a large crossover with a blocky body shape, a flat roofline, traditional door handles, and multi-spoke chrome-plated rims. This SUV’s front end adopts large rectangular blocks of headlights, a thin grille, and a larger air intake. Other features include sculpted fenders, a LiDAR sensor on the roof, and plastic trim around the lower part of the body.

From the back, the Haval HX adopts a swing-out tailgate with a full-size spare wheel. The car’s rear axle has multi-link independent suspension. There is no information about the specs of the new Haval HX. However, this model is positioned as the brand’s flagship SUV. As a result, it is most likely larger than the second-gen Haval H9 off-roader, which boasts a length of 4,950 mm.

The new Haval HX adopts GWM’s latest assisted driving system. It stands on the VLA (Vision, Language, Action) model, similar to the previously launched Wey 07 (Lanshan) SUV. It is capable of the Navigate On Autopilot (NOA) function on urban roads and highways. The ADAS also supports the autonomous parking function.
More about the Haval HX
As mentioned, the new Haval HX SUV stands on the GWM One architecture, similar to the recent;y released Wey V9X full-size flagship crossover. The latter adopts a 2-liter turbocharged engine for 175 kW (235 hp) paired with two electric motors. Other features of plug-in hybrid vehicles on the GWM One platform are an 800V high-voltage system and an electric motor for 300 kW (402 hp) in the rear axle.

Haval is a well-known global brand under the Great Wall Motor umbrella that sells in multiple countries, including South Africa and Australia. There is a high chance that the newly revealed HX will become the brand’s global flagship sold in foreign countries.
