The Leapmotor B05 Ultra trim, which boasts an upgraded 180 kW (241 hp) motor, exterior body kit, and a revised interior, is gradually arriving at dealers across China. The B05 Ultra will be the highest trim level available in the B05 lineup. Although pricing has not yet been announced, sales of the B05 Ultra are set to begin in April. The B05 is also marketed as the Lafa 5 in Leapmotor’s domestic market.
Previous MITT filings have revealed the B05 Ultra’s exterior cosmetic changes, which include sportier side skirts, a dual-layer front splitter and a rear spoiler with a more aggressive design. Leapmotor’s official announcement now showcases the B05 Ultra’s interior, which incorporates trim-exclusive sporty revisions.

The Ultra trim features front seats with a revised sportier design and Ultra embroidery, and 8-point massaging is included as well. The B05 Ultra now mainly utilizes faux suede for interior surfaces, and body-coloured seat belts with Ultra badging come as standard.

Pricing for the B05 Ultra has not been announced, while the standard B05 range is priced between 97,800 – 121,800 yuan (14,300 – 17,800 USD). It is expected that the Ultra trim will be priced above this range.
The existing B05 measures 4430 mm in length, 1880 mm in width, 1520 mm in height, and a 2735 mm wheelbase. Two LFP battery options are available: a 56.2 kWh pack offering 515 km range and a 67.1 kWh pack offering 605 km range.

The B05 Ultra represents Leapmotor’s latest attempt to carve out a piece of the sporty EV market in China, the first being the LP-S01, a FWD two-door EV sports car launched in 2017 and Leapmotor’s first production model. Notable rivals with similar range-topping sport trims include the Lynk & Co 10+ and the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra. While the B05 range is priced far below them, the Ultra trim may attract young buyers cross-shopping similar sporty EV hatchbacks such as the BYD Seal 06 GT, the Lynk & Co Z20, and the Zeekr X.

Based on China EV DataTracker data, Leapmotor delivered 18,292 units domestically in February 2026, down 17.1% Year-Over-Year. However, the company is optimistic with its sales forecast, aiming to hand over 1 million vehicles to customers aound the globe this year.
