BYD’s ride-hailing brand Linghui launches e7 EV, flash charging version starts at 15,900 USD

On April 15, BYD‘s ride-hailing subsidiary Linghui officially launched the Linghui e7, a new electric vehicle targeting both commercial operations and daily transportation markets. The model debuts with five variants priced between 95,800 yuan and 115,800 yuan (13,900-16,800 USD). The Linghui brand first appeared in regulatory filings in January.

Core technology: Blade Battery 2.0 with flash charging

The Linghui e7’s headline feature is BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery paired with flash charging technology, delivering charging performance:

  • 10% to 70% charge: 5 minutes
  • 10% to 97% charge: 9 minutes
  • At minus 30°C: only 3 additional minutes compared to normal temperature

As of March 5, 2026, BYD has established 4,239 flash charging stations nationwide, with plans to expand to 20,000 stations by the end of 2026.

Design and dimensions

The Linghui e7 adopts an “Innate Smile” design philosophy, featuring a front fascia with upward-sweeping lines extending to C-shaped inner contours, creating a welcoming expression. The vehicle is equipped with LED headlights and offers three exterior colours: Mist Grey, Cloud White, and Cool Beige.

The interior follows a minimalist design principle with a Jazz Black theme, employing pure black tones and clean spatial lines to create a refined cabin atmosphere.

The vehicle supports full-scenario intelligent voice interaction with:

  • Four-zone voice recognition
  • Interruptible conversation capability
  • Continuous dialogue functionality

Launch benefits

Customers placing orders can enjoy a four-gift package:

  1. Free Flash Charging Gift – Non-commercial owners receive 12 months of free charging at flash charging stations; commercial owners receive 12 months of service fee waivers (applicable to 550 Flash Charging variants only)
  2. Warranty Protection Gift – Non-commercial vehicles: lifetime warranty on battery, motor, and electronic control system for first owner, plus 6-year or 150,000 km vehicle warranty; Commercial vehicles: 6-year or 600,000 km warranty on battery, motor, and electronic control system, plus 1-year or 100,000 km vehicle warranty

In March 2026, BYD sold 295,639 new energy vehicles globally, down 20.4% year on year. First-quarter 2026 sales are 688,939 vehicles, down 30.5% with the previous year, according to China EV DataTracker. BYD retained its position as China’s largest NEV maker in March, holding a 22.8% retail market share.
