Chengdu Auto Show: Kia K3 launched in China

The new Kia K3 sedan debuted today at the Chengdu Auto Show in China, it will be launched on the Chinese auto market on October 8. The Kia K3 will be made in China by the Dongfeng-Yueda-Kia joint venture. Power comes from a 143hp 1.8 liter engine mated to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic, a 1.6 will be added to the line-up later. Price for the 1.8 will start around 125.000 yuan.

The Kia K3 replaces the old Kia Forte which was made in China as well. The Kia K3 shares most of its components with the new Hyundai Elantra Landong that is made in China by the Beijing-Hyundai joint venture.
