Price puts the Beetle neatly under the Mini which starts at 225.000 and ends at 359.000 yuan. The Volkswagen New Beetle, the old Beetle, launched in China in 2008 and was a sales success, competing fiercely with Mini for the money of sugerbaba-babes.  The new Beetle will be powered by a 1.2 TFSI or a 1.4 TFSI.
