The BYD pure electric super car will be launched on the China car market in 2015, called BYD E9. The super car will be a convertible two-seater comparable in concept to the Tesla Roadster. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h will take 3.9 seconds. Price will start around 500.000 yuan (82.000 USD) and that will make the E9 the most expensive China-made sportmachine ever made.

BYD is also considering a super sedan with a hybrid drivetrain based around a new 2.0 turbo with a combined output of 350hp. This drivetrain will first debut in a new dual-mode hybrid SUV that will hit the China car market in 2014.

BYD seems on the right power track. Earlier today the Shenzhen brand launched the 303hp Qin hybrid sedan. Lotta horses with a bit of green for the bees, a fine combination with a keen eye on the future.
