This is the production version of the new Beijing Auto Senova X55 SUV, showing off its daring fog light hugging bumper. It is an interesting car; definitely more than just a facelift but also not totally new, as it stands on the same platform as the current X55, which was launched less than two years ago.
The new Senova X55 debuted on last month’s Shanghai Auto Show. Note the different grille compared to the white car on the first photo.
The current Senova X55.
Price starts at 76.800 yuan and ends at 119.800 yuan. Engines: 116hp 1.5 and a 160hp 1.5 turbo. The engines will continue in the new X55 and price will be about the same.
Size current: 4405/1809/1685, wheelbase is 2650.
Size new: 4480/1809/1680, wheelbase is 2665.
Going back to those grilles. The new X55 will be available with two different grilles, one with horizontal bars and one with a kind of honeycomb pattern. The photo on the lower left shows the front end of the current X55. This indicates that the current car might continue, probably as a budget alternative.
