Chery is working to get its new 3.0 V6 in the G6 sedan. The V6 comes with a healthy V6 197hp and 278nm mated to a equally new 5-speed automatic gearbox. Chery’s existing ‘boxes couldn’t handle power of the V6.

But the power story doesn’t end here. Chery showed a stretched G6 limousine at the Shanghai Auto Show in May. That car will be called ‘Paramount’ and it gets a supercharged version of the V6 with 294hp (!!) and 350nm (!!). That is the most powerful gasoline engine made by an independent Chinese automaker so far. Seems fine for the Z5 as well…
