The BYD e6 EV has been around for many years. But individual buyers still can’t get it, the E6 has only be used for a few taxi-pilot-projects. That however will change soon. BYD will bring the ‘individual’ e6 to the market and these are the very first spy shots of the actual production car. Boldest claim first: range of 240 to 300 kilometer, depending on ‘road conditions’. That means that the range is at least 240 kilometers.

Charging on a special station will take 15 minutes for 80%. No word how long it will take on standard 220V. Power comes from a 101hp electric motor coupled to BYD’s “Fe” lithium iron phosphate battery. BYD claims a top speed of 160km/h and the E6 will do 0-100km in “less than” 8 seconds. Price yet unknown.
