BYD is working on an upgrade for the fine G3 sedan. The facelifted car will debut on the Guangzhou Auto Show in November. Earlier on we heard it would get BYD’s advanced 6-speed DCT and today Chinese media report it will also get the new 154hp 1.5 turbo from the fantastic BYD Su Rui.

BYD G3 will get a 1.5 Turbo in China

The current BYD G3. Price starts at 57.900 yuan and ends at 82.900 yuan.  Current engines: 1.5 with 109hp mated to a five-speed manual or a 1.8 with 122hp mated to a CVT. The naturally aspirated 1.5 will continue in the facelifted G3 but the old 1.8 will die. Price for the facelifted G3 with the 1.5 turbo will start just under 100.000 yuan, and that is very cheap for such a high tech power train.
