New Hyundai sedan for China leaked before the Shanghai Auto Show
This is the new China-only Hyundai sedan, it will debut on the Shanghai Auto Show later this week. The picture of a picture, likely on a billboard close to the exhibition hall, shows a sleek and modern looking vehicle. The Chinese name of the new Hyundai is ‘Mingtu’.
The Mingtu will be positioned between the Hyundai Elantra Langdong and the Hyundai Sonata, price will range from 140.000 yuan to 180.000 yuan. The new sedan will be made in China by the Beijing-Hyundai joint venture.

Power will come from 1.8 and 2.0 four-cylinders, mated to a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic. The new sedan will compete with fine cars such as theVolkswagen Sagitar and the Citroen C4L, relatively small sedans with a premium look & feel. This market segment is growing fast in China, more entrants are expected to join the battle soon.
