The Volvo V40 will be imported into China, there are no plans for local production yet. The new Geely-build Volvo factory in Chengdu will start with the Volvo S60L, Volvo XC60 and a yet mysterious new small sedan. The V40 will compete with other imported premium hatchback-wagon cars such as the Audi A3, Benz A and BMW 1.
