Spy Shots: BYD L3 to get a 1.2 turbo in China

The very first spy shots of the upcoming BYD L3 1.2TI, powered by a 1.2 turbo, that will be launched on the Chinese car market in the third quarter of this year. The engine is a high-tech machine with direct injection and an aluminum cylinder block, it will be mated to a six-speed DCT.

The BYD L3, priced from 59.900 yuan to 82.900 yuan. Engines: 1.5 with 109hp and a 1.8 with 122hp. The 1.2 TI will be positioned above the 1.5 and likely replace the aging 1.8. Output of the 1.2 TI is yet unknown, but a good guess is about 125 horses.
