Spy Shots: Haima S5 SUV seen testing in China
Published on July 14, 2013 by Tycho de Feijter
Exclusive spy shots of the new Haima S5 SUV. Two test cars were seen at a vehicle certification center near Shanghai by reader and super spy Chiprdan, thank you for the pictures! The Haima S5, code named SC01, is a mid-size SUV that will be positioned under the Haima S7 SUV.
The new spy shots are the best we have seen so far and we are now convinced the S5 will be launched on the China car market in 2014, and not in 2015 as many Chinese media say. The vehicle loox completely ready to go, and the fact that the vehicles were seen at a certification center means all tech is ready too.
The Haima S5 will be powered by a turbocharged 1.5 liter four-cylinder with 150hp and 210nm, mated to a 5-speed manual or a CVT. A naturally aspirated 1.5 will likely become available as well, but probably not at launch. The Haima S5 is part of a giant Haima SUV-offensive that includes two more new SUV’s that will be positioned above the Haima S7.
Head lights look very sharp, more LED in the bumper, lotta heavy chrome in the grille for the rich feeling.
Camouflaging one logo and the other not doesn’t make too much sense. Haima being messy, or was somebody a bit too curious..?
