The Suzuki Authentics sedan will be manufactured in China. Production will start in the second half of 2014 at the Changan-Suzuki joint venture. The Authentics is a C-segment sedan especially developed for the China car market. The Suzuki Authentics will compete with cars such as the Chevrolet Cruze and Nissan Sylphy.

Price will range from around 100.000 to 150.000 yuan. The Suzuki Authentics stands on the same platform as the Suzuki S-Cross that will be launched on the Chinese auto market next month. The S-Cross is powered by a 1.6 with 122hp and 158nm, mated to a 5-speed manual or CVT. The Authentics will get the same engine, and will also be available with a 1.8. Size of the S-Cross: 4300/1765/1585, wheelbase is 2600.

The Authentics will be the first large Suzuki-branded sedan to be manufactured in China for the Chinese auto market. The current Suzuki Kizashi sedan is imported into China but so unknown and so expensive that nobody buys it, price starts at a very steep 188.800 yuan.
