Volkswagen Golf is Psychedelic in China
A very psychedelic Volkswagen Golf R, Spotted in China at the Volkswagen China headquarters in the Sanlitun area in Beijing. The good Volkswagen was wrapped in a wrap that made me wonder where and what I was. The wrap changed color while I was looking at it, going from purple to gray and back.
And there it goes again! A brilliant piece of wrapping, definitely art. Except for the wippy wrap the Golf R was further sexed up by matte black door handles, tinted windows, and racy 5-spoke alloys.
The Volkswagen Golf R was imported into China, unlike the GTI which is locally produced. When new price started at a hefty 350.000 yuan. But power! The Golf R goes like stink thanks to a 2.0 turbo with 270hp and 350nm, top speed is 270km/h and 0-100 is gone in 5.5 seconds. The new Golf 7 R will be even faster, it will hit the China car market in April next year.
