FAW Junpai D60 SUV will hit the China car market in Q4

The FAW Junpai D60 SUV will be launched on the Chinese car market in Q4, and that is later than previously expected. Price will start around 70.000 yuan and end around 120.000 yuan. ‘Junpai’ is a new brand under the First Auto Works (FAW) umbrella, the D60 is their first car. Junpai-branded cars will be manufactured by Tianjin-FAW, a FAW subsidiary.

The new Junpai brand is going to be very big with a grand total of eleven new models under development. Next up is a small SUV to compete with cars like the Changan CS35, followed by a compact SUV to compete with cars like the Ford Ecosport, followed again by a compact sedan based on the cancelled Besturn B30.

The Junpai D60 will be available with two petrol-powered four-cylinder engines: a 1.5 with 100 hp and 135nm, and a 1.8 with 136hp and 170nm, both mated to a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic.

Size: 4170/1765/1625mm, wheelbase is 2557mm. Curb weight: 1206 (1.6) / 1276 (1.8).
