New Honda Odyssey hits the Chinese auto market

The new fifth generation Honda Odyssey has been launched on the Chinese car market. Price starts at 229.800 yuan and ends at 299.800 yuan. The new car came with a new slogan: “Be Ultimate MPV”. How catchy.

The Honda Odyssey is manufactured in China by the Guangzhou-Honda joint venture. It is one of the most popular MPV’s on the market, competing head-to-head with the endlessly successful Buick GL8. The Odyssey is only available with one engine, which will seriously limit its appeal. The engine is the rather old 2.4 liter four-cylinder petrol unit with an output of 183hp and 243nm, mated to a CVT.

Chrome strip under windows ends up in a speedy arrow head. Fat chrome strip at the back…

… and an even fatter one at the front. Those poor 183 horses need to pull all that around!
