The new Dongfeng Fengdu MX6 SUV has been launched on the Chinese car market. Price starts at 122.800 yuan and ends at 169.800 yuan ($19.760 – 27.330).  The Dongfeng Fengdu MX6 is based on the old Nissan X-Trail. The platform became available after the new X-Trail launched in March last year.

The old Nissan X-Trail was made in China by the Dongfeng-Nissan joint venture. Price started at 207.800 yuan and ended at 269.800 yuan. Engines: a 144hp 2.0 and a 184hp 2.5.

The Fengdu MX6 is powered by that very same 144hp 2.0, and it is the same car exactly bar for the grille and badges, but 38.000 yuan cheaper. The X-Trail was a popular car with a strong following, giving the Fengdu MX6 a good chance on the market, especially among those who think the new X-Trail to SUV-like or too expensive.

The interior was slightly updated with a new center console with a large LCD screen and a Dongfeng logo on the steering wheel. Two transmissions: five-speed manual or a CVT, sending power to all four wheels.

A tad too dark inside but quality appears to be very good.
