Zotye is going to launch a female-only variant of their SR9 SUV Porsche Macan clone called the ‘Godess’. It will debut on the Shanghai Auto Show next month. The company has just released images of the interior and we are very impressed. Pink rules!
Pink lining in roof-mounted control panel, pink dash top, pink decorations on doors, a pink arm rest, pink lines around the center tunnel, and what the little ladies will appreciate most: a pink gear lever knob. Still, that is not even all.
First another look at the exterior. Zotye did great work here. The body is completely pink including the door handles and the top end of the mirrors. The brakes however are red. They should have been pink too. The wheels are sliver-black. Black is okay with pink, but silver is not. The wheels should have been black or pink.
The seats are cream(pie) white with pink stitching. The entire side panel of the tunnel-connecting to the dash is pink too. And best of all: the buttons in the seat belt holders are pink too! Brilliant work. Strangely however the steering wheel is bog standard black. It shouldn’t be too hard to pink it, with paint or a cover. Odd. A car so pink deserves a pink wheel.
The lady owner can order her initials to be embroidered into the headrest in pink, CL is used here as an example. The arm rest in the back and the frame of the rear-reading lights are pink too.
The Chinese name is Nusheng (女神). Literally and traditionally that means ‘Goddess’. But in today’s popular language it means “a woman who is admired by others”, like a hottie singer or an internet celebrity. The term has a very sexist taste. Just search it in Baidu (slightly NSFW). Zotye must have missed out on that. Or maybe not.
The Nusheng is female-only but absolutely not for the cheap ladies. It will cost a massive 180.000 yuan while the standard car ranges from 108.800 to 161.800 yuan. There are no technical differences and engine is the same 190hp 2.0 turbo unit as in the rest of the lineup. But umbrella!
