The brand new GAC Toyota bZ4X has arrived at dealers throughout China. The Toyota bZ4X is produced in China by the GAC-Toyota joint venture. Positioned as GAC Toyota’s first e-TNGA pure electric SUV, the bZ4X has a price range of 220,000-300,000 RMB (33,200-45,000 USD) after subsidies.
The bZ4X uses contrasting colors to mix and match the body color, making the entire car look younger and individualistic. The front face looks modern with a closed grille design and chrome trim strip. The e-TNGA platform features a low center of gravity for better handling.
The shape of the side is sharp and angular, and the lines are smooth. The black cladding around the wheel arches makes the car sporty.
The size of the bZ4X is 4690/1860/1650mm, with a wheelbase of 2850mm and a rear space of 1000mm.
In the interior, a 12.3-inch full LCD instrument panel is suspended on the center console.
The central control screen adopts a floating design. At the bottom of the screen are physical buttons for the heat pump air conditioning control, seat heating, steering wheel heating, and PM2.5 filtering.
Furthermore, the interior is equipped with a smart cockpit digital vehicle ecosystem, which supports voice recognition, OTA software upgrades, digital keys that can remotely lock and start the engine through a smartphone, automatic parking, and remote parking through a smartphone App.
The bZ4X also comes with the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 (TSS 3.0) for active safety equipped with a monocular camera and millimeter-wave radar. The TSS 3.0 functions include lane recognition, a pre-collision system with Daytime and Low-Light Detection of Cyclists, Motorcyclists, Guardrail Detection, an adaptive cruise control system with Curve Speed Management, and supports left turns at intersections.
There is an infrared remote sensing heating system under the feet of the front seats.
Power
The bZ4X is equipped with a high-efficiency three-in-one motor system and powered by high-performance low-attenuation batteries. It comes in front-wheel and four-wheel drives. The front-wheel drive version has a maximum power of 150kW, a peak torque of 266Nm, and a 615km cruising range. The four-wheel drive version has a maximum power of 160kW, a peak torque of 337Nm, and a 560km cruising range.
Furthermore, the bZ4X is equipped with a solar charging dome to increase the cruising range. GAC Toyota claims that the electricity obtained through solar charging each year can increase the cruising range by as much as 1750km.
