New VGV U70 Pro SUV Launched In China, Starts At 13,300 USD

VGV officially launched the U70 Pro SUV with a price range of 89,800-115,800 RMB (13,300-17,100 USD). The VGV U70 Pro comes in five and seven-seat versions.

After a recent restructuring, the VGV brand is now a subsidiary of state-owned Sinotruck, one of China’s largest truck makers founded in 1930. VGV makes three cars: the VGV U70 SUV, the VGV U75 Plus SUV, and based on that the new VGV VX7 pickup truck.

The VGV U70 Pro body size is 4825/1870/1691mm, with a wheelbase of 2800mm.

The front features a large grille with horizontal chrome-plated banners, sharp headlights on both sides, and embellished with red lines.

From the side, the waistline of the body extends from the headlights to the rear enhances the visual length of the car. The multi-spoke rims further emphasize the sportiness of the car.

The rear bumper has a silver guard plate, adding a sense of strength to the exterior of the car.

The interior has a 10.25-inch central control touch screen on the center console and a digital instrument panel. The car supports remote start and the air conditioner can be turned on remotely. The VGV U70 Pro also comes with voice recognition and driving assistance functions including hill start assist control and downhill assist steep slope descent control. Furthermore, the VGV U70 Pro also has leather seats, a three-spoke steering wheel, and a yacht-style electronic gear lever, which enhances the luxuriousness of the car.

Power

The VGV U70 Pro is equipped with a 1.5T engine with a maximum power of 115kW and a peak torque of 215Nm, matched with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox. The car is front-wheel drive with a top speed of 175km/h for both transmission versions.

  1. Reading the headline, some might get the idea here that “VGV” is a manufacturer….but rather it is merely a brand name.
    Sinotruck whose majority shareholder is the renowned diesel engine maker, Weichai, is the manufacturer. Production is based in Chongqing.
