Recently, the details of a new Chery Arrizo 5 GT variant were listed on the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) website. Chery Auto will equip Arrizo 5 GT with a new 1.5L turbocharged engine. To recall, it was in September 2022 Chery Auto unveiled the Arrizo 5 GT in China. They will unveil the new variant in early 2023 in China.
The new 1.5T engine will have a power output of 115 kW (155 horsepower) and a torque of 230 Nm. It will be mated with a 5-speed manual gearbox and a CVT gearbox. The images we obtained suggest Chery hasn’t changed much with the vehicle’s design. There are only a few minor visible changes on the rim. On the front, it gets a large air intake grille, and headlights & heat dissipation on both sides add to a sharper style of the vehicle. It will retain the exclusive GT logo on the front and rear.
The vehicle will continue to follow the dual-screen setup on the interior. On the rear, it has dual exhausts on both sides and a blackened taillight group design. A black strip with Chery Logo connects both lights to add a connected design to the vehicle. In terms of body size, the length, width, and height of the Arrizo 5 GT are 4710/1829/1490mm, and the wheelbase is 2670mm.
Chery Arrizo 5 GT
The existing Arrizo 5 GT has a 1.6L four-cylinder turbocharged engine with a power output of 197 horsepower. It pairs with a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission. It can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 6 seconds. The variant with a 1.6T engine was available in a price ranging from 99,900 Yuan to 108,900 Yuan (14,370 to 15,670 USD). According to the Chinese media report, the new variant’s pricing will start at 80,000 Yuan (11,510 USD). With a lower price, the new Arrizo 5 GT will be a choice for many buyers.
