Recently, Changan announced that it will unveil its upcoming brand-new pure electric SUV with an internal codename “CD701” on September 4th at the third Changan Automobile Science and Technology Ecological Conference. Earlier this month, Changan registered a new trademark named “E0”. It is highly likely that the car’s official name will be called E0. Once launched, it will compete with the NIO ES8 and BYD Tang EV.

Launched in 2022, Zhuge is a high-end electric brand under Changan. Its Chinese name is “诸葛智能” (Zhuge Zhineng or Zhuge Intelligent). So far, the brand announced three vehicles, namely CD701, CD570, and C798. Besides Zhuge, Changan has three other new energy brands: Changan New Energy, Changan Deepal, and Avatar.

Based on Changan’s SDA architecture, the size of the Changan E0 is 5000/1970/1630mm, with a 3100mm wheelbase. The car will feature a five-seater version. Interestingly, the door handles are absent. Furthermore, the car adopts a slip-back design and runs on five-spoke wheels.

The exterior mirrors are replaced by cameras. Besides cameras, it may also be equipped with lidars, millimeter wave radar, and ultrasonic radar for its advanced driving assistance system.

According to Changan, its SDA architecture is based on the concept of “layered decoupling”, which divides into six layers, namely L1 to L6. The first three layers from L1 to L3 correspond to the car’s sensing, control, and execution capabilities. The last three layers from L4 to L6 correspond to the computing power, algorithms, and data.

The taillights have a circular through-type design, wrapping around the rear.

Coming to the interior, an instrument panel is absent. Instead, there is a head-up display. At the center of the dashboard is a large central control screen.

The steering wheel is flat-bottom with the E0 logo displayed at the center.

The power specifications are not yet revealed, we’ll watch closely for more details.
