The Chery eQ7 compact all-electric SUV with 512 km of range and 211 hp hit pre-sales in China. It has three trim levels with a starting price of 143,900 yuan (20,000 USD). As for the official market launch of the Chery eQ7, it is scheduled for the end of August.
Briefly about Chery eQ7
We will remind you that the Chery eQ7 is the all-new electric vehicle in the brand’s model line. It adopts a new design language with thin running lights, a closed grille, and high beams integrated into the front bumper. From the side, it has slanted D-pillars and a single taillight unit. It also has quite a lot of gray plastic in the lower part of the body.
Inside, the Chery eQ7 has a 24.6-inch twin screen that comprises an LCD instrument panel and a touch screen. It also has a three-spoke steering wheel with a gear selector that sits behind the wheel. As for the center tunnel, it has two wireless phone charging pads and two cup holders.
Speaking about dimensions of the eQ7, they are 4675/1910/1660 mm with a wheelbase of 2830 mm. It has a long wheelbase and relatively short overhangs. For clarity, the eQ7 is 24 mm shorter, 38 mm wider and 25 mm lower than the Skoda Kodiaq. Another feature of the car is aluminum body frame that reduces weight of the car by 30%. As for the powertrain of the eQ7, it has a single electric motor for 211 hp. It is powered by a 67-kWh LFP battery pack for 512 km.
Chery eQ7 pre-sales
The Chery eQ7 is available for pre-order in three trim levels. All of them have the same powertrain. As mentioned, the first trim level costs 143,900 (20,000 USD). The second one costs 153,900 yuan (21,400 USD). And the top-trim level is available for booking for 163,900 yuan (22,790 USD).
In China, the eQ7 will rival other fully electric vehicles such as BYD Song Plus, Skyworth EV6 (Skywell ET5), Forthing Thunder, Neta U and other electric SUVs. So, it will be difficult for Chery to attract customers’ attention. Anyway, the eQ7 will make its market debut at the end of August, possibly at the Chengdu Auto Show.
