This is the Aion S Max pure electric compact sedan, a facelift model of the Aion S. The new car was previously declared by the Chinese MIIT and is expected to launch on October 26 in China with a starting price of less than 150,000 yuan (20,500 USD). Aion is a brand under GAC.

The Aion S was the first model based on the second-generation pure electric exclusive platform from GAC New Energy, launched in 2019. Then in 2021, the Aion S Plus variant was introduced. Overall, the appearance of the Aion S Max remains largely unchanged compared to the Aion S Plus currently on sale. The closed front face adopts a split headlight set. In addition, a new blue exterior color option will be available.

From the side, the body is slender and the popular hidden door handles are used, paired with multi-spoke rims, which further enhance the sporty atmosphere of the vehicle. Both 17-inch and 18-inch tires will be offered. The rear has narrow through-type taillights and the AION letter logo is positioned at the center below the taillight strip.

The Aion S Max measures 4810(4863)/1880(1890)/1515 mm, with a 2750(2760) mm wheelbase. The size of the Aion S Plus currently on sale is 4810/1880/1515 mm, with a 2750 mm wheelbase.

Power will come from a 180 kW permanent magnet synchronous motor and a ternary lithium battery pack, providing two CLTC electric cruising ranges of 510 km and 610 km. In addition, the car will be equipped with optional lidars and cameras. It is likely that the Aion S Max will have advanced driving assistance functionalities.

At this time, the specific interior parameters have not been revealed. Based on the official image, there is a large floating central control screen, an LCD instrument panel, and a three-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel. Furthermore, under the central control screen are air-conditioning outlets. For reference, the current Aion S is equipped with a 14.6-inch central control screen and a 10.25-inch instrument panel.
