Neta Thailand factory production launch

Neta started manufacturing its first overseas plant in Thailand on a faster timescale. Previously, the mass production here was scheduled for January 2024. However, Hozon Auto’s EV maker managed to launch the manufacturing process before the year’s end. On January 30, Neta started manufacturing the Neta V-II SUV with its local partner, Bangchan General Assembly.

This overseas plant will manufacture right-hand-drive versions of Neta’s vehicles. Its annual production capacity reaches 20,000 units. For clarity, Neta sold 10,565 cars in Thailand in the first ten months of 2023. Neta targets its yearly sales in Thailand to reach 13,000 units. The local factory will supply cars to Thailand and the ASEAN region. We will remind you that this region comprises ten member states: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam, and Thailand.

As mentioned, Neta manufactures the V-II model at the Thai plant. It was previously launched in the Chinese market as Neta Aya. It is a facelifted version of the original Neta V model. Neta V-II is a small crossover with dimensions of 4070/1690/1540 mm and a wheelbase of 2420 mm. It has two powertrain options. The first one has a 40-kW e-motor and a 318 km range. The second modification has 95 hp and 401 km of range. Interestingly, the Neta V-II has yet to launch in Thailand.

Neta further overseas plans

In 2024, Neta wants to enter 50 global markets, selling over 100,000 units overseas. It has already announced entry to Latin America and the Middle East. In September, Neta announced it targets full ASEAN market coverage. It also intends to launch in Europe, signing a memorandum of understanding with BNP Paribas. In November, Neta displayed two models around the Formula 1 racetrack in the UAE, hinting these two models also have strong exporting ambitions. However, Neta mainly exports its two other models: Neta V and Neta U.

We will keep an eye on Neta’s overseas performance, so stay tuned!
