BYD has two vehicle series: Dynasty and Ocean. Cars in the Dynasty line are called after Chinese ruling families. It comprises five lines: Han, Song, Qin, Tang, and Yuan. The Yuan series currently consists of two models: Yuan Pro and Yuan Plus (Atto 3). Soon, BYD will launch the third model for the Yuan series, which is the Yuan UP. Previously, this crossover was exposed by the Chinese regulator. And now, BYD has revealed its official images.

The BYD Yuan UP follows BYD’s updated Dragon Face design language, which is similar to the previously launched BYD Song L. It has a sturdy front bumper, a signature Yuan (元) logo, and thin elongated LED headlights. The Yuan UP has blackened pillars, a large sunroof, flush door handles, funky plastic trim in the lower part of the body, and five-spoke rims. The Yuan UP has a single taillight unit and a roof spoiler in the rear.

The exterior design of the BYD Yuan UP stays in line with images exposed by the Chinese MIIT. Its only unique feature is a light green color. Previously, BYD shared official spy shots of the Yuan UP covered in camouflage. It is clearly gearing up for the market launch scheduled for March this year.

BYD Yuan UP specs

The BYD Yuan UP is a small SUV with dimensions measuring 4310/1830/1675 mm and a wheelbase of 2620 mm. It has two optional electric motors for 70 kW and 130 kW, similar to the BYD Dolphin. Its top speed reaches 160 km/h. The BYD Yuan UP has two LFP battery options from FinDreams for 32 kWh and 45.1 kWh, good for 301-401 km of range.

The Yuan UP will enter the Chinese market in March this year. Its price tag will be around 100,000 yuan (14,085 USD). It has the potential to become the BYD’s new bestseller.
