The wheelbase of the Hongqi HS3 PHEV is 2770 mm, and the overall dimensions are 4655/1900/1668 mm, which are the same as the current gasoline-powered variant. The official pure electric range is 115 km and the comprehensive range is 1,100 km. At this time, the detailed specifications have not been officially revealed.
For the exterior, the PHEV variant continues the design of the gasoline-powered variant, featuring a large waterfall grille with the Hongqi logo running through the front hood, further highlighting its brand identity. The front fenders are also equipped with the Hongqi logo. Two rim sizes are available: 19 and 20 inches.
The rear adopts a through-type taillight group. The PHEV label has been added to the lower right to indicate its status, according to the declaration images from the Chinese MIIT.
Furthermore, the cockpit has a symmetrical layout and a “zero formaldehyde” interior. There is a multi-function steering wheel, a 12.3-inch full LCD instrument panel, and a 12.6-inch vertical central control touch screen. The air-conditioning outlets are integrated on both sides of the screen. At the same time, a 40W mobile phone wireless charging function and intelligent driving assistance system are not absent.
Earlier in 2023, Hongqi announced its “All in New Energy” initiative to promote the electrification of all models. Xu Liuping, chairman of FAW China, said that starting from the second half of 2022, all of Hongqi’s new technology innovation investment and production capacity will be used on new energy vehicles, except for special-purpose vehicles.
By 2025, Hongqi aims to sell one million vehicles annually, of which new energy vehicles will account for more than 50% of the sales. By 2030, Hongqi targets to sell more than 1.5 million vehicles, of which new energy vehicles will become the main sales force.
