Updated September 30, 2024, 17:00 (UTC+0): Added information about the sales performance of other NEV brands in China in the first eight months of the year.
Zeekr planned to deliver 230,000 cars this year, the brand CEO Andy An said in his latest interview with National Business Daily. CarNewsChina discovered that Geely’s high-end brand completed slightly over 50% of its ambitious 2024 sales goal as of August.
According to the retail sales volume from CPCA, Zeekr delivered 121,540 cars in China, up 81.4% Y-O-Y. The brand reached this impressive pace because of the launch of refreshed models. However, Zeekr is still far away from completing its 2024 sales goal of 230,000 units. It has completed only 52.8% of this goal.
So, Zeekr has 108,560 more cars to sell in the next four months. It is 27,140 units per month. Zeekr set its previous sales high of 20,106 cars in June 2024. So, it will be challenging for Geely’s high-end brand to reach its ambitious goal. However, it is likely that Zeekr will actually make it. The main reason for this is the launch of the 7X SUV.
Moreover, according to CPCA information obtained by CarNewsChina, around 44% of annual sales volume of NEV brands in China take place in last four months of the year. For example, Li Auto made 45.1% of its annual sales volume from September to December 2023. BYD made 39.8%, and Xpeng achieved 53% of its annual sales volume.
