BYD submitted pictures of the 2025 Atto 3 (Yuan Plus in China) to the Chinese regulator. The images revealed exterior changes and a camera in the front fender, hinting at new ADAS (advanced driver-assistance system) capabilities.

The new Atto 3 front bumper has a new design, giving it a more aggressive look. The grille and headlights remain unchanged. The images were submitted to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) in the category of car adjustments, where only updated versions of existing models are approved with powertrain and most of the specs unchanged.

The rear has a new bumper line corresponding to the design language of the front. The roof spoiler design has been updated with a pair of third brake lights, replacing the single light strip in the previous version.

New roof pillars are visible on top, and decorative silver stripes on the lower edge are visible from the side.

In the front bumper is a new camera, which suggests that BYD has enhanced its assisted driving capabilities. In April, BYD announced drone maker DJI as one of its ADAS suppliers.

The dimensions are 4455/1875/1615 mm (length/width/height), and the wheelbase is 2720 mm. The electric SUV is equipped with a 150 kW motor model TZ200XSQ. Two battery options are available: 49.92 kWh and 60.48 kWh, which provide 430 km and 510 km under CLTC conditions, respectively.

The current version of BYD Atto 3 price range is 116,800 – 144,800 yuan (USD 15,930 – 19,750) in China. The launch date was not announced, but MIIT listing is usually the last step before the car is ready for trial production start. CarNewsChina expects it will be released in Q2 2025.
