Onvo’s second car, reportedly named L80, completed a trial production test and will soon enter a tooling trial (TT). The next step after TT is the start of production (SOP).

The leaked picture revealed that Onvo’s second car will soon be ready to hit the market, Chinese automotive blogger 贺磊 posted. According to previous information from Onvo executives, Onvo L80 will be unveiled in Q1 2025, and the car will launch in May. In January, Onvo’s VP reiterated that the launch would be in the year’s second half.

Some reports claim the final name will be L90. Onvo didn’t officially confirm the name of its second car.

Onvo’s second car will be a large six or seven-seater SUV. It will have three rows of seats and compete with Li Auto L8 and even massive L9 regarding interior space, Onvo claims.

Onvo says that while the L60 is perfect for a family of three, the L80 will be the best choice for large families. “If you can’t buy Nio ES8, definitely wait for the second half of 2025 to get an L80,” Onvo’s Vice President Qing Hua said.

Onvo launched its first car in September last year. In 2024, the company delivered 20,761 L60 mid-size SUVs. In 2025, Nio expects the whole Onvo brand to sell 240,000 vehicles. Onvo sold about 6,000 L60s in China in the first three weeks of January.

Nio group currently has three brands: the premium Nio brand, the entry-level family-oriented Onvo, and the budget Firefly, which was initially aimed at European customers. The Firefly EV hatchback was launched in December in China for 20,000 USD.
