Volkswagen-backed Xpeng targets to sell 3,500 electric cars in 2025 in France. It currently has 30 dealerships nationwide and plans to increase to 60-70 by the year-end, marketing director Thomas Rodier told Automobile Propre.

“Our goal is to reach 3,500 cars with our two models, G6 and G9,” Rodier said when asked about the 2025 delivery target.

Xpeng officially entered the French market in May, and deliveries started in September. According to Rodier, the company has delivered almost 800 cars so far (as of January 10), and 511 have been registered. Deliveries are higher as some cars were used to fill showrooms and test drive vehicles. In December, Xpeng delivered 300 cars in France.

Xpeng wants to have sales 50/50 between individual buyers and companies. At the moment, more than 80% of G9 sales are B2B. Also, 80% of customers opt for leasing, says Rodier. For example, the Xpeng G6 monthly subscription is 470 EUR without a deposit.

Xpeng sells two models in France: the G6, a rival to the Tesla Model Y, and the G9 flagship SUV. Although sales are 50/50, Rodier revealed that the G6 is slowly taking over.

The prices and specs in France are as follows:

Xpeng G6

  • RWD Standard Range: 42,990 EUR
    • 435 km range, 190 kW motor power
  • RWD Long Range: 46,990 EUR
    • 570 km range, 210 kW motor power
  • AWD Performance: 50,990 EUR
    • 550 km range, 350 kW motor power

Xpeng G9 (800 V charging)

  • RWD Standard Range: 59,990 EUR
    • 460 km range, 230 kW motor power
  • RWD Long Range: 63,990 EUR
    • 570 km range, 230 kW motor power
  • AWD Performance: 73,990 EUR
    • 520 km range, 405 kW motor power

The range is under WLTP conditions. The prices are pretty competitive compared with prices in Finland, for example.

Xpeng currently has 30 dealerships in France; by the end of the year, it will have 60 or 70. “The goal is to have an Xpeng point of sale less than an hour from home anywhere in France,” says Rodier.

Xpeng opened its flagship store in Paris on October 1 at 10, Bd Gouvion-St-Cyr.

In 2025, Xpeng will focus on only the two SUVs but might introduce the Xpeng P7+ to France by the end of the year.

Xpeng officially sells in 12 international markets, including Finland, Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands, the UAE, Thailand, and Egypt. It mainly uses the traditional dealership model.

Xpeng sold 190,068 EVs in 2024, up 34.2% from 141,601 units in 2023. In China, the Xpeng G6 starts at 169,900 yuan (23,430 USD) for the Long Range version. The G9 flagship starts at 228,900 yuan (31,600 USD) for the 570 Pro version.
