Chinese car brand Geely will enter Poland with two crossovers. The first is the Geely EX5 electric SUV. The second model is an unnamed C-SUV with a plug-in hybrid powertrain. The company signed the distribution agreement with Jameel Motors.
Geely Auto and Jameel Motors signed an agreement to distribute new energy vehicles in Poland on May 8. Jameel Motors is a car distributor founded in Saudi Arabia in 1945. Aside from its home country, this company currently operates in Algeria, China, Egypt, India, Japan, Morocco, Monaco, and Turkey. Jameel Motors works with such passenger vehicle brands as Toyota, Lexus, MG, GAC, and Changan.
According to the press release shared by the two companies, Geely Auto will offer its NEV lineup to Polish customers. According to Geely, Poland’s BEV sales grew by 41% in February 2025. The Chinese brand will introduce two models to the local market. They both stand on the GEA modular architecture. The first vehicle to enter Poland is the Geely EX5 electric crossover. It will start sales in Q3 2025.
The Geely EX5 sells in China as the Geely Galaxy E5. It is a compact crossover with a minimalistic exterior styling and dimensions of 4615/1901/1670 mm. The wheelbase is 2750 mm. This urban SUV has a 160 kW (215 hp) electric motor suitable for a zero-to-hundred acceleration time of 6.9 seconds. The Geely EX5 has two LFP battery options: 49.52 kWh and 60.22 kWh. Its CLTC electric range is 440 – 530 km.
Previously, the Geely EX5 was launched in Australia, selling 1,000 cars in a month. The Geely EX5 is also available in Indonesia, Thailand, Mexico, and more. What is more, the Malaysian automaker Proton sells the Geely EX5-based eMas 7 SUV in the local market. Back in Poland, Jameel Motors Poland GM Marcin Słomkowski shared that the EX5’s core features include next-gen electric architecture, advanced safety, and a spacious cabin.
There is no official information about the Geely’s second vehicle for Poland. However, we know that it is a plug-in hybrid C-SUV that stands on the GEA platform. Currently, Geely sells only one such model domestically. It is the Geely Galaxy Starship 7 EM-i crossover. It will most likely become the Geely’s second model in Poland.
The Geely Galaxy Starship 7 EM-i’s exterior styling aligns with the Geely EX5. However, the plug-in hybrid model has a unique front end and traditional door handles. The car’s drag coefficient is 0.288 Cd. Dimensions of the Starship 7 EM-i are 4740/1905/1685 mm with a wheelbase of 2755 mm.
Inside, the Geely Galaxy Starship 7 EM-i adopts a large 14.6-inch touchscreen and a 10.2-inch LCD instrument panel. The gear shifter sits behind the two-spoke steering wheel with a flat bottom. There are two wireless phone charging pads, two cup holders, and a block of physical controls in the center tunnel. Other features of the Starship 7 EM-i include 16 speakers, front seats with 14-point massage, and a trunk volume of 528 liters.
The Geely Galaxy Starship 7 EM-i adopts Geely’s latest Leishen 2.0 (NordThor 2.0) plug-in hybrid system. It has a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine for 82 kW (110 hp) and an electric motor for 160 kW (215 hp). There are two LFP battery options: 8.05 kWh and 19.09 kWh. The electric range is 55 – 120 km (CLTC). The mixed range reaches 1,420 km.
