Li Auto will begin deliveries of the new Mega minivan variant called ”Home” after the huge sales dip of this model in April 2025. The Li Mega Home entered mass production on May 20. The company will hand over the first batch of new MPVs to clients on May 23.
The Li Auto Mega is the brand’s first all-electric model, launched in March 2024 with a starting price of 529,800 yuan (73,500 USD). Initially, the company planned to sell around 8,000 of this multi-purpose vehicle monthly. However, the Li Mega cumulative deliveries reached 10,798 units in 2024, falling short of expectations.
In 2025, the Li Mega sales continued to slide. In April 2025, this minivan showed the all-time worst result with 103 units handed over to customers across China, down 91% year over year. This month, the company will try to make up for lost ground by starting deliveries of the new variant of the Mega MPV called “Home.”
On May 20, Li Auto began mass production of the Li Mega Home minivan at the company’s plant in Beijing. This model will kick off deliveries on May 23 with a price tag of 559,800 yuan (77,650 USD). This variant is 30,000 yuan (4,150 USD) more expensive than the standard variant of the Mega.
The main feature of the Li Mega Home is two zero-gravity seats in the second row that can rotate for up to 180 degrees, facing the third row. These captain chairs also support a 45-degree turn to ease boarding. Another mode is a 90-degree seat turn for camping mode. Other features of the second row of seats include an 18-point massage, ventilation, and a ceiling-mounted 21.4-inch screen.
The Li Mega Home adopts the brand’s latest 2025 AD Max driving assistance system. It adopts the ATL LiDAR sensor from Hesai and a single Nvidia Thor-U chip with a computing power of 700 TOPS. The 2024 model year Li Mega had the AT128 LiDAR and dual Nvidia Drive Orin-X chips with a combined computing power of 508 TOPS.
The Li Mega Home is a large minivan with dimensions of 5350/1965/1850 mm and a wheelbase of 3300 mm. Thanks to a sleek body shape, this model boasts a drag coefficient of 0.215 Cd. It is better than the Porsche Taycan and the Tesla Model 3. However, some car enthusiasts think that the Li Mega’s exterior is its drawback, with a coffin-like body shape.
The Li Mega Home interior has seven seats with a 2+2+3 layout. The car has a 500-liter trunk. Another feature of the Li Mega is a standard dual-motor 4WD system with a peak power of 400 kW (536 hp). They are powered by the 102.7 kWh ternary NMC battery for 710 km of range under CLTC conditions. This 5.3-meter MPV speeds up to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds. It also equips air suspension to enhance driving comfort.
The Li Mega Home aims to boost the brand’s first minivan’s sales volume. However, a high price level was this vehicle’s major problem back in 2024. Nowadays, the company has boosted the equipment of its MPV. However, its price tag continued to grow. This strategy could easily turn into a money loss for the company as there are a lot of cheaper rivals, including the Zeekr 009 from Geely, the Xpeng X9, and the Voyah Dream.
