The all-new Xpeng P7 sedan-coupe revealed core specs in China ahead of the sales start, as this car applied for a sales license. The new P7 boasts a 5-meter body, scissor doors, and 4WD for 437 kW (586 hp). Xpeng will release this sporty BEV in Q3 this year. Its price tag will be around 300,000 yuan (41,650 USD).
The new Xpeng P7 was previously known by its codename E29. The Chinese automaker shared its official images on May 15. On May 23, the new model applied for a sales license in China, revealing core specs. Previously, Xpeng chairman He Xiaopeng said that the new Xpeng P7 will make a public debut in Q3 2025.
The exterior of the new Xpeng P7 is saturated with a cyberpunk vibe. Its body offers a mix of flat surfaces, sculpted fenders, and streamlined shapes. The new model has thin LED stripes in the front end and hidden headlights. Other features of the car include blackened A- and B-pillars, retractable door handles, and signature taillights. The new car can also be equipped with an active rear spoiler, optional carbon fibre elements, and scissor doors.
The Xpeng P7 is a large sedan-coupe with dimensions of 5017/1970/1427 mm and a wheelbase of 3008 mm. For clarity, it is 43 mm shorter than the BMW 5 Series G60. However, the Xpeng P7’s wheelbase is 13 mm longer than the G60’s. The new P7 boasts approach and departure angles of 13 and 14 degrees, respectively. This vehicle rides on 20-inch wheels as standard with 245/45 tires in the front and 265/40 in the rear axle. There is also an option with 245/40 R21 & 275/35 R21 wheels.
The entry-level variant of the all-new Xpeng P7 has a single Luxshare-made synchronous permanent magnet TZ230XY01E29X electric motor for 270 kW (363 hp) in the rear axle. It is paired with an LFP battery from EVE Energy with an unknown capacity. This trim level has a curb weight of 2,125 kg and a 230 km/h top speed. The long-range variant of the P7 has the same e-motor and a ternary NMC pack from CALB. It weighs 2,090 kg and has the same top speed.
The 4WD variant of the Xpeng P7 adds the asynchronous YS230XY01E29X Xpeng-made electric motor for 167 kW (223 hp) in the front axle. The system’s total power output is 437 kW (586 hp). A ternary NMC pack from CALB sends power to these electric motors. The car has a curb weight of 2,188 – 2,220 kg, depending on the configuration. The top speed is 230 km/h. Its another highlight is large Brembo brake calipers.
