Xiaomi has officially announced that its highly anticipated YU7 SUV will begin static displays in 13 Beijing stores starting May 29, followed by a nationwide expansion to 92 cities across China in June. The company clarified that these showcases will be closed-door, meaning visitors cannot enter the vehicle, as some features remain undisclosed to ensure a “more complete product experience” upon its official launch.

In addition to the YU7 showcases, Xiaomi confirmed its participation in the 2025 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) Auto Show, which will run from May 31 to June 8 at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Centre. The automaker will occupy Booth 06 in Hall 6, where its full lineup, including the SU7 sedan, SU7 Ultra, and YU7 SUV, will be displayed.

Positioned as a premium large SUV, the YU7 measures 4,999 mm in length, 1,996 mm in width, and 1,608 mm in height, with a 3,000 mm wheelbase. Buyers will choose nine exterior colours, including Jewel Green, Titanium Metal, and Lava Orange.

Under the hood, the YU7 is powered by Xiaomi’s proprietary V6s Plus super e-motor, incorporating segmented magnet technology to enhance efficiency and performance. All three variants—Standard, Pro, and Max—feature this motor, though output varies by trim.

The Standard RWD model accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 5.88 seconds, with a 235 kW peak power output and a 96.3 kWh LFP battery delivering up to 835 km CLTC range. The Pro AWD version cuts the 0-100 km/h time to 4.27 seconds but reduces the range slightly to 770 km due to its dual-motor setup.

The Max AWD performance variant is topping the range, which boasts a blistering 3.23-second 0-100 km/h sprint, 508 kW peak power, and a larger 101.7 kWh NMC battery for 760 km of range.

Inside, the YU7 features a futuristic “Hypervision” panoramic display and a 6.68-inch rear control screen. It also comes with Nvidia Thor chip-powered ADAS and LiDAR as standard.

With the YU7 set to launch in July, Xiaomi is positioning itself as a serious contender in China’s crowded electric SUV market, targeting rivals like Tesla’s Model Y and Nio’s ES6. The company has kept the interior details under wraps, highlighting potential surprises tied to HyperOS or autonomous features. Unveiled on May 22, the YU7’s pricing and pre-orders remain unannounced, with CEO Lei Jun dismissing rumours of a 199,000 yuan (27,500 USD) starting price and dropping YU7 hints of possible pricing.
