All-eletric Li Auto i6 revelaed without camo for the first time, packs 536 HP
The Li i6 SUV was revealed by the regulator before its official debut in China. Li Auto’s third all-electric car is nearly 5 meters long and has dual motors offering up to 536 hp. Li i6 will be launched in September, CEO Li Xiang previously said.
The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) released images of the production version along with core specs. MIIT must approve every car sold in China, and automakers are not happy about this, as their homologation filing reveals secrets before the official launch. But we do not mind.

Li i6 is a 5-seater SUV with MPV styling. Its dimensions are 4950/1935/1935 mm (l/w/h), and its wheelbase is quite long, at 3000 mm.
Li Auto filed for the homologation of two trim versions: AWD and RWD. The all-wheel drive (AWD) i6 is equipped with dual motors—one on the front axle has 150 kW of power, while a more powerful 250 kW motor is in the rear. The combined power is 400 kW (536 hp), and the top speed is 180 km/h. The curb weight of the AWD version is 2,525 kg.
The rear-wheel drive (RWD) version has a single motor mounted on the rear axle, with a maximum power of 250 kW. The curb weight of the RWD version is 2395 kg.
The i6 will reportedly be built on an 800 V charging platform and powered by a 5C LFP battery. It can be charged for 500 km in 10 minutes.
Li Auto currently sells a single electric car—the Li Mega MVP. The Li i6 will be the company’s third all-electric (BEV) model, as the company was selling only range extenders (EREVs) until last year. The Li Mega was released in March 2024 without much success. After that, Li Auto paused the release of electric models and reworked its strategy.
Li Mega sold only 3,501 units in 2025 so far (Jan-May), down 43.8% from the same period last year. It accounts for 2.1% of the company’s brand share, and its sales are well below 8,000 units monthly, which was Li Auto’s target. In April, sales dropped to about 100 units.

The second BEV model will be the i8, which will launch in late June, according to Li Auto. The i8 is bigger than the i6, as it is a 6-seater with a length of nearly 5.1 meters. It will offer BEV and EREV variants and the same motor setup as the i6.
Li Auto delivered 40,856 cars in May, up 16.7% from last year. Unlike its frenemies Xpeng and Nio, Li Auto didn’t officially expand overseas and officially sells only in China, despite grey imports growing in certain markets. Last year, the company announced it is considering expanding to overseas markets not before 2028 and would first eye Latin America and the Middle East.
