Geely will open pre-orders for its  Galaxy A7 EM-i sedan on July 11, ahead of a full market launch in Q3 2025. The A7 is Geely’s first sedan based on the new Geely Electric Architecture (GEA) and debuts with the company’s EM-i AI Super Hybrid 2.0 powertrain and Flyme Auto ingenious cockpit.

The vehicle was officially revealed at a June 19 debut event in China. It began arriving at Geely dealerships for display purposes on June 23.

It features a low-slung silhouette, multi-spoke 19-inch wheels, traditional door handles, and a drag coefficient of 0.229 Cd, comparable to the first-generation Tesla Model 3.

Interior and comfort features

The A7’s cabin will be available in three interior themes: Snow White, Autumn Brown, and Misty Grey. It includes a 15.4-inch 2.5K touchscreen infotainment display, a 12.3-inch instrument panel, and a two-spoke multifunction steering wheel. High-spec trims also receive a 16.6-inch head-up display.

Other interior features include dual 50W wireless phone chargers, physical controls for climate and volume on the centre island, and a panoramic sunroof measuring 0.87 square meters. Rear passengers benefit from 132 mm of legroom, seats with a 120-degree recline, and options for ventilation, heating, and massage.

Powertrain and performance

The Galaxy A7 is powered by Geely’s EM-i AI Super Hybrid 2.0 system, which combines a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine delivering 82 kW (110 hp) with an electric motor rated at 175 kW (235 hp). The hybrid drivetrain is paired with an 11-speed electric drive unit.

The A7 offers two battery options: 8.5 kWh and 18.4 kWh, supporting an all-electric CLTC range of 70 km to 150 km. According to Geely, the A7 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.1 seconds. The combined fuel consumption is rated at 2.67 L/100 km, and the total hybrid range can reach up to 2,100 km on a full tank and charge.

Market positioning and pricing

The Galaxy A7 is positioned as a mid-size plug-in hybrid sedan and is expected to compete with models such as the BYD Qin L DM-i and Deepal SL03. Geely positions the A7 as a long-range plug-in hybrid sedan with integrated AI features and a lower starting price segment.

Geely has not yet disclosed the full pre-sale configuration lineup or battery-specific pricing. The starting price is estimated to be around 100,000 yuan (13,900 USD), with higher trims expected to reach approximately 150,000 yuan (20,870 USD).

Flyme Auto, AI features, and Galaxy Radio debut.

The A7 is the first Geely model to feature the complete Flyme Auto smart cockpit system, developed in partnership with Meizu. It runs on Geely’s Xingrui AI Cloud 2.0 architecture and integrates voice control, navigation, entertainment, and OTA upgrades.

Geely will also launch a new in-car entertainment feature called “Galaxy Radio” on July 11, with the first celebrity guest host to be revealed during the A7’s pre-sale live stream.
