The Geely Galaxy Starshine 6 plug-in hybrid sedan was exposed in China ahead of its official release. This model is positioned as a cheaper alternative to the previously launched Starshine 8. The new sedan offers a body length of 4,806 mm and the Geely EM-i 2.0 AI Hybrid system with 100 km of pure EV range.
Geely Galaxy is a new energy vehicle branch of the well-known Chinese automaker Geely. This division was founded in 2023. Nowadays, it boasts a wide model line of ten cars. According to data from China EV DataTracker, Geely Galaxy sold 371,633 units from January to June 2025.
Soon, the eleventh model of this rapidly developing brand will enter China. It is the Starshine 6 sedan. It was listed in the catalog of the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) during the homologation process for the domestic market. As a result, core specifications and the first images of the Galaxy Starshine 6 were revealed.

In contrast with other Galaxy-branded models, the Starshine 6 has a large chrome-plated grille in the front. Its front end gives the impression that this sedan was originally developed for the main Geely brand. The Starshine 6 has a sporty bumper with sizeable air intakes and big LED headlights. The new sedan adopts traditional door handles and a sleek roofline. From the back, we can see a single taillight strip.
The Starshine 6 is available with 16-inch or 17-inch rims. The entry-level model has no rear parking radars and front-mounted camera, hinting at a low price level. This car could be optionally equipped with a sunroof. The Galaxy Starshine 6 has a wheelbase of 2,756 mm. Its dimensions are 4806/1886/1490 mm. For clarity, it is 24 mm shorter than the BYD Qin L DM-i.
The Geely Starshine 6’s front and rear tracks are equal at 1,620 mm. Approach and departure angles are 14 and 15 degrees, respectively. The front overhang reaches 940 mm while the rear one is 1,110 mm. The car’s curb weight lies in a 1,505 – 1,580 kg range.



Geely Galaxy Starhine 6 powertrain
The Geely Galaxy Starshine 6 adopts the 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol-powered BHE15-BFN engine. Its peak power reaches 82 kW (110 hp). It is the same engine that powers the Geely Galaxy A7 sedan. Its eye-catching feature is a thermal efficiency of 47.26%. Geely claimed that it is the class-leading number.
There is no information about the electric motor of the Starshine 6 in the MIIT catalog. However, this vehicle adopts the Geely EM-i 2.0 AI Hybrid system. It was first introduced this summer. In this system, the peak power output of the electric motor reaches 175 kW (235 hp). The Starshine 6 has a maximum speed of 180 km/h.

The entry-level Geely Galaxy Starshine 6 has an 8.5 kWh LFP battery from CALB. It weighs 99 kg and provides up to 50 km of CLTC range. With this battery pack on board, the Starshine 6 has a fuel consumption rate of 3.75 liters per 100 km. A more expensive variant of the Starshine 6 boasts a 17-kWh LFP pack from Rept Battero. Its weight reaches 155 kg. The Starshine 6 with this battery can run up to 100 km of range in EV mode, and its fuel consumption rate is 3.85 L/100km.
There is no information about the price range of the Geely Galaxy Starshine 6. However, its price tag will likely be similar to the Galaxy L6, the brand’s cheapest sedan at the moment. We listed prices of all Galaxy-branded PHEV sedans for reference:
