The Zeekr 9X full-size plug-in hybrid SUV from Geely Automobile, with the world’s largest battery, began presales in China with a starting price of 479,900 yuan (67,080 USD). Available in three trim levels, the car boasts up to 1,030 kW (1,381 hp) and a mixed range of 1,200 km under CLTC conditions.
Zeekr is a high-end brand founded by Geely Automobile in 2021. It previously sold only pure electric cars. However, Zeekr followed the growing trend for plug-in hybrids in China. The Zeekr 9X became the brand’s first PHEV. It started presales at the Chengdu Auto Show 2025 as this luxury crossover readies to rival the Aito M9, the Li L9, and other high-end SUVs in this price segment.
Briefly about the Zeekr 9X
The Zeekr 9X is a full-size SUV with dimensions of 5239/2029/1819 mm and a wheelbase of 3,169 mm. It is the first car that stands on the new SEA-S modular architecture. It is available for order in five body colors: black, white, silver, gray, and purple.


Interior of the Zeekr 9X is offered in three color combinations: deep blue, beige, and brown. This large SUV comes standard with six seats (a 2+2+2 layout). Its center console adopts a large block of two 16-inch screens. Interestingly, customers can refuse to order the additional screen for the front passenger by decreasing the 9X’s price by 5,000 yuan. The Zeekr flagship SUV has a 47-inch augmented reality head-up display. The car’s rear passengers have an additional 17-inch 3K display on the ceiling.
Zeekr 9X specs and prices
As mentioned, the Zeekr 9X became available for presale in three trim levels: Max, Ultra, and Hyper. The entry-level car costs 479,900 yuan (67,080 USD). It offers a combination of a 2-liter ICE and two electric motors for 660 kW (885 hp). The 9X Max has a 55 kWh battery on board, suitable for 300 km of electric range under CLTC conditions. The car’s mixed range in PHEV mode reaches 1,200 km. Its zero-to-hundred acceleration time is 3.9 seconds.
The Zeekr 9X Max comes standard with a dual-chamber air suspension complemented by a dual-valve continuous damping control (CDC) system. It also adopts a single LiDAR on the roof and the G-Pilot H7 driver’s assistance system powered by a single Nvidia Drive Thor-U chip for 700 TOPS (Trillion Operations Per Second). The Naim sound system for 32 speakers is also available.


The Zeekr 9X Ultra starts at 499,900 yuan (69,880 USD). This trim level adds a folding table for the right second-row passenger, a four-way lumbar support & a 22-point massage for the first-row and the second-row seats, and privacy sunshades for each side window. Other highlights of this model include intelligent headlights and power doors. The 9X comes standard with 660 kW and a 55 kWh battery. However, it can be optionally equipped with a 70 kWh pack.
The Zeekr 9X Hyper is the top-of-the-line model with a price of 569,900 yuan (79,660 USD). This variant comes standard with a 70 kWh battery for 355 km of CLTC range. It sends power to three electric motors. The combined power output of the Zeekr 9X Hyper reaches 1,030 kW (1,381 hp). The mixed range of this vehicle is 1,165 km. It speeds up to 100 km/h in 3.1 seconds.
The Zeekr 9X Hyper highlights include a 48V active stabilizer bar, active side support for the driver’s seat, and rotating second-row seats. The 9X Hyper also adopts the G-Pilot H9 system with five LiDAR sensors and two Nvidia Drive Thor-U chips with a combined peak power of 1,400 TOPS. Zeekr calls this system “the L3-ready model”.
