Three Aito crossovers from Huawei and Seres debuted at the IAA Mobility 2025 in Munich, hinting at the European launch. These models are available with BEV and EREV powertrain variants. Their domestic price range is 229,800 – 449,800 yuan (32,220 – 64,060 USD).
Aito is a result of cooperation between the state-owned automaker Seres and Huawei. The two parties began working together in 2021 as the Seres M5 SUV became available for purchase in the Huawei stores. Both sides were satisfied with this collaboration model. Next, Seres and Huawei formed a joint high-end NEV brand called Aito. It became the first brand under the Huawei-owned HIMA (Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance) car sales network umbrella.
The Aito’s current model line comprises four crossovers: the M5, the M7, the M8, and the M9. They sell under the Seres brand in some overseas regions, including the Middle East. Three out of four models available in China were revealed at the IAA Mobility 2025 in Munich on September 8.

Three Aito-branded models were revealed at the IAA Mobility 2025: the M5, the M8, and the M9. The Aito M7 wasn’t displayed in Munich likely because its new generation will enter the domestic market on September 23. Meanwhile, Seres and Huawei sell the outgoing first generation overseas.
Aito M5
The Aito M5 is the brand’s entry-level SUV that originally entered the domestic market in 2022. During its life cycle, the M5 got several minor updates without drastic exterior changes. It is a mid-size SUV with a low beltline and a sleek roof. Its dimensions are 4785/1930/1625 mm with a wheelbase of 2,880 mm. A noticeable highlight of the M5 is a 192-line LiDAR on the roof.

The Aito M5 adopts two rows of seats inside. A large 15.6-inch floating display sits in the car’s center console. An LCD instrument panel and a gear shifter are hiding behind the two-spoke steering wheel. The center tunnel of the M5 offers two wireless charging pads and a couple of cup holders.
The Aito M5 is available with BEV and EREV powertrain options. The first one offers a single electric motor in the rear axle with a peak power of 200 kW (268 hp). It is powered by an 83 kWh LFP battery from CATL, suitable for 602 km of CLTC range. The EREV variant has a 1.5-liter ICE under the hood that sends power to a 42 kWh ternary NMC battery. The M5 EREV is available with RWD for 200 kW (268 hp) and 4WD for 365 kW (489 hp).

The Aito M5 costs 229,800 – 249,800 yuan (32,220 – 35,020 USD) in China. According to China EV DataTracker, this model delivered 21,064 units domestically from January to July 2025.
Aito M8
The Aito M8 is China’s current bestselling full-size new energy SUV (in the April–July 2025 period). Its range-extended variant started sales in April 2025. And the all-electric M8 was launched in late August. This crossover adopts the brand’s latest design language with two headlights joined by an LED strip and flush door handles. Dimensions of the Aito M8 are 5190/1999/1795 mm. Its wheelbase stretches to 3,105 mm.

The interior of the Aito M8 has two seat layout variants. The first offers two rows with five seats. The second option is a six-seat car with three rows. The M8 adopts a triple screen in the center console. It comprises a 12.3-inch LCD instrument cluster, a 15.6-inch main screen, and a 16-inch front passenger monitor. The Aito M8 also supports an augmented reality head-up display with a picture of 68 inches.
The Aito M8 EREV is powered by a dual-motor 4WD with a peak power of 392 kW (526 hp). Under the hood, this SUV has a 1.5-liter turbocharged range extender. The battery is either LFP or ternary NMC with a capacity of 37 kWh or 53.4 kWh. The CLTC range is 201 km and 310 km, respectively. The all-electric model is available with RWD for 227 kW (304 hp) paired with a 100 kWh battery for 705 km range. The 4WD option offers up to 387 kW (519 hp) and 655 km range.
The Aito M8’s domestic price range is 359,800 – 449,800 yuan (50,440 – 63,060 USD). Data from China EV DataTracker indicates that 56,748 units of this model were delivered to owners from April to July 2025.
Aito M9
The last model in the list is the Aito M9 flagship crossover. This SUV started sales in China in December 2023. It adopts a distinguishing gauntlet-shaped headlights and taillights. It is also the Aito’s biggest model with dimensions of 5230/1999/1800 mm and a wheelbase of 3,110 mm. Another highlight of the updated M9 is four LiDARs.

The M9 is available with five- and six-seat layout variants. The center console of the M9 has a large triple screen. It integrates a 12.3-inch LCD instrument panel, a 15.6-inch main screen, and a 16-inch front passenger monitor.
The Aito M9 EREV offers a 52 kWh ternary NMC battery for 290 km of electric range under CLTC conditions. It is complemented by a 1.5-liter ICE. The Aito M9 EREV boasts a dual-motor 4WD with a total power output of 365 kW (489 hp). The BEV variant of the car comes standard with a 100 kWh pack and two e-motors for 390 kW (523 hp).
The Aito M9 costs 469,800 – 569,800 yuan (65,865 – 79,880 USD) in China. From January to July 2025, this SUV delivered 70,025 units domestically (according to China EV DataTracker).
