The BYD E-Vali commercial electric van got five stars in the Euro NCAP safety evaluation test. This car attracted attention at the IAA Transportation 2024 due to quirky exterior styling. The E-Vali aims to rival petrol-powered rivals at overseas markets, including Europe and Central Asia.

Euro NCAP revealed the safety evaluation test results of the E-Vali light commercial vehicle (LCV) in December 2025. It was tested in three segments: safe driving, crash avoidance, and post-crash safety. This van earned five stars with a generally good performance.

According to Euro NCAP, the BYD E-Vali is well-equipped with safety features. They include speed assistance, driver monitoring, and driver & passenger airbags. There is also a standard-fit seatbelt reminder system for both front seats. It also provides the adaptive cruise control system. As a result, it got 62% in the safe driving category.

The BYD E-Vali adopts the autonomous emergency braking (AEB) system as standard for Europe. This function is paired with the front collision warning (FCW) system. Euro NCAP experts shared that these systems performed well in terms of reaction to pedestrians and cyclists as well as other vehicles. The system also protects pedestrians to the rear of the van. Other features include the lane support system (LSS) and the speed assistance system. The E-Vali got 91% in the crash avoidance segment.
